Launching August 2026 — before the Content API sunset

Know exactly why your products aren't showing on Google.

GMC Auditor is a read-only Shopify app that compares your catalog against what's actually live in Google Merchant Center — and explains, product by product, why items are missing, stale, disapproved, or demoted.

MISSING

The products are not going over to Merchant Centre with errors. They are just not going over at all. I'm at my wits' end with this.

— Shopify merchant, 5,000-product store (2,600 silently missing from Google)

What you get

A verdict for every product. In plain language.

The official Google & YouTube channel fails silently — no error messages, no manual sync, no visibility. GMC Auditor reads both sides and tells you which side dropped the ball, and how to fix it.

Missing-product diff

Every published product that never reached Google Merchant Center, with the root cause: unpublished, missing identifiers, zero inventory, or silently skipped by the channel.

Stale price & availability alerts

Price changes that never propagated are a guaranteed path to account suspension. See every mismatch between Shopify truth and what Google is showing shoppers.

Disapprovals, explained

Item-level issues translated from Google jargon into plain steps — what's wrong, which attribute, and exactly how to resolve it, with links to Google's own docs.

GTIN validator

Checksum, length, and format validation across every variant — catch the invalid barcodes causing disapprovals and "limited performance" demotions.

Duplicate data-source audit

Content API + "Found by Google" + leftover feeds double-counting your catalog causes phantom products and conflicting prices. We enumerate every source.

Pre-migration snapshot

Google's Content API shuts down Aug 18, 2026 and the forced migration rewrites product IDs. Snapshot your account before — see exactly what broke after.

How it works

Connected and diagnosed in under five minutes.

Connect your Shopify store

Install from the Shopify App Store. We read products, variants, and channel publication status — nothing else. No customer data.

Connect Google, read-only

Sign in with the Google account that manages your Merchant Center. We only ever read product statuses, issues, and data sources.

Get your audit

A full diff with a verdict per product, prioritized by revenue risk — plus daily monitoring that emails you when something drops out or gets disapproved.

Built to be trusted

We diagnose. We don't touch your feed.

Feed apps ask you to rip out your existing sync and trust theirs. GMC Auditor works alongside whatever you use today — including the official Google & YouTube app.

  • Read-only by design — the app contains no code paths that write to Merchant Center.
  • No feed replacement — keep your current setup; we explain it instead.
  • No customer data — we never read orders, customers, or checkout data.
  • Leave anytime — disconnect deletes your tokens and data. No lock-in.

FAQ

Questions merchants ask us

Is this really read-only?

Yes. Google doesn't offer a read-only permission for Merchant Center, so the connection screen will mention "manage" — but GMC Auditor's Google client is read-only by construction and enforced by automated tests. We never modify products, feeds, or settings unless a future opt-in repair feature is explicitly enabled by you.

Does it work with the official Google & YouTube channel app?

That's exactly what it's built for. The official channel fails silently — products vanish, prices go stale, nothing surfaces an error. GMC Auditor sits alongside it and shows you what it actually submitted versus what your store says. It works with third-party feed apps too.

What happens on August 18, 2026?

Google shuts down the Content API for Shopping. The official Shopify channel is migrating to the new Merchant API, and the forced reinstall rewrites every product ID — which can disrupt Google Ads history and break feeds. Our pre-migration snapshot captures your account state before the switch so you can see precisely what changed after.

What will it cost?

A free scan tier at launch, and a paid plan around $19/month for full reports, daily monitoring, alerts, and snapshots. Early-access merchants get extended free access in exchange for feedback.

Stop guessing why Google won't show your products.

Early access opens before the August 18 migration. Bring your messiest Merchant Center — that's what it's for.
